Matthew Syrett is best known for producing the Academy Award-winning film Freeheld and serving as the lead story producer for the Netflix docuseries MerPeople. As an independent filmmaker, he has created Oscar, Emmy, and Sundance-winning films that have been featured on HBO, PBS, Cinemax, Netflix, and TNT. Syrett holds an MFA in screenwriting from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. In addition to his work in film and television, he has held leadership roles as Vice President at Grey Advertising, Senior Product Manager at IMDb (Amazon), co-founder of the financial services company Marstone, and VP of Product at Rakuten USA. Currently, he is producing a documentary series on immortality and two fiction films.
