Marie Šandová, born in 1955, Prague. The author and director of documentary films and television programmes. She completed her studies at FAMU – editing (1980) and documentary film (1982). She has directed more than 50 documentary films and educational programmes mainly for Czech TV. Several of them were awarded at festivals and reached international audience. The wide range of subjects cover documentary films about social issues, portaits of creative and interesting personalities, documentary films about nature, enviroment and architecture. She is also teaching on documentary department of FAMU, Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Perforomig Arts, Prague. Since 1992 she has completed as an independent producer several film projects in audiovisual studio Alkyon.
