Levin Peter was born 1985 in Jena, Germany. His first documentary film PRESTES MAIA (in co-production with ZDF/ARTE) about the largest squatted building in Latin America was shot in 2007 in São Paulo. While studying directing at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg he had created numerous short and documentary films that have been shown and awarded at festivals worldwide. His diploma project, the feature film BEYOND THE SNOWSTORM, won the First Steps Award and was shown at the Berlinale and many other festivals. He founded the production company RAUMZEITFILM together with Elsa Kremser in 2016. He received the Nipkow and the Gerd Ruge Grant. In 2017 he received the Berlinale Kompagnon Award for the development of his fiction film THE GREEN PARROT.
