Valdis Abols joined Vides Filmu Studija in 2001 after having decided to finish his diplomatic career. Since then, he has been a staff member responsible for the company’s legal and commercial affairs. He has also been involved in a number of TV projects and documentaries produced by Vides Filmu Studija as a project manage, author and scriptwriter. He has also done translations of literary works from English and Spanish into Latvian (H.D.Thoreau, J.L.Borges, James Stephens) and is an occasional contributor to the magazine Rigas Laiks and the daily Diena on historical and cultural themes.
