Antigone, A Simple Step Out
The documentary combines the three endings of Antigone from Slavoj Zizek’s play, with footage of European history, speeches in European parliament, panels from Davos World Economic Forum, protests in the streets of European city’s, political propaganda, artistic works … and dialogue with the author of the play.
By enacting Zizek’ Antigone, film seeks answers to global social, political and economical questions, presented through choices of Antigone, king Creon and Chorus.
Should our highest priority be respect of a state law, or should we follow a moral law, or is there a third choice? Is Antigone today a populists, anti-migrant and fundamentalists politician, is Creon today's modern neo-liberal bureaucracy and does Chorus represent conformist-revolutionary masses?
