The Burden of Sacrifice
Cardinal Štěpán Trochta (1905-1974) was a prisoner both in German concentration camps and under the communist regime. He was charged with treason and the indictment demanded the death penalty for him. Eventually, the court sent him to prison for 25 years because of his social conscience. The documentary tries to understand the era and point out the perversity of the regime via interviews with several eyewitnesses and secret police files from that time. It is also a tribute to this interesting and great person.
