Speechless in Japan

Weronika, a young film director, travels alone to Tokyo where by chance she meets an extravagant 63-year old man Yamada San who dresses like a woman. She cannot speak Japanese; he does not speak English. Throwing caution to the wind and following her intuition, Weronika tells this intriguing man she will “follow him wherever he goes”, communicating with him solely through the lens of her camera. Soon she realises this is not enough and asks random people on the street to translate for her. At first, the passers-by are apprehensive, barely hiding their judgement of Yamada San that’s written on their faces. However, they gradually open up and this is when it all starts.
