Synopse
The short documentary “The wind blows where it pleases” could be summed up as an immersion into what it feels like to be a queer Christian in present day Hungary. With the director’s guidance, Eszter, a 37-year old woman living in Budapest, takes us on an emotional journey into her innermost conflict: she wants to live with a woman for the rest of her life, but is still deeply affected by her mother’s rejection. Intimate dialogues and poetic imagery evoke Eszter’s strictly religious upbringing and her journey from trying to heal to trusting that God loves her – no matter who she loves. Meanwhile, the filmic relationship turns into a friendship in which both the protagonist and the director open up and share experiences of their pasts.
