Synopse

Codelli is an experimental dokuportrait about Slovenian inventor Antonio Codelli. From 1910 to 1915 he built a radiotelegraphy station for the German Telefunken Company in Togo, Africa, making it possible, to establish a wireless connection between Togo and Berlin. In 1912, he ran into the adventurer and film pioneer Hans Schomburgk. He became the producer of the first feature-length film ever shot in Africa. ‘Eine Weisse Unter Kanni, the story is about a young girl who is found by a cannibal tribe, who raise her and worship her as a Goddess. The tribe is later discovered by a white adventurer, who falls in love with the girl, and saves her. Original film was made in Togo in 1914, but lost. A later reconstruction was made in 1920 in Berlin.
