A documentary fimmaking graduate at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Mária Rumanová developed her graduation film into a mid-length documentary entitled Hotel Sunrise. Mária has gained recognition with her short documentary Isolation (2013), for which she received the Best Director Award at the Áčko Student FF. She also works for the Slovak public broadcaster
