Michael Stewart is the founding Director of Open City Documentary Festival which has its sixth edition 21-26 June 2016 in London. He is the Director of the MA in Ethnographic and Documentary Film at UCL which he created in 2014. He is in the process of creating a film ecosystem that reaches across the boundary between a university and a capital city. In previous lives he has worked as a social anthropologist with Romany populations in Hungary and Romania and made tv documentaries - including in the Czech Republic.
