Fil Ieropoulos was born in Athens, Greece in 1978. He works on the crossroads of experimental film, visual essays, poetics and performance. His debut feature film ORFEAS2021, a queer adaptation of Claudio Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, premiered at the 62nd Thessaloniki Film Festival and was nominated at the Hellenic Film Awards. His second feature, Avant-Drag!, was selected as Critics’ Choice at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and is nominated in the Film Forward category of the Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival.
