Ioana Grigore has a master’s degree in Documentary Film Directing and a bachelor’s degree from the National University of Film and Theatre, in Bucharest. As a student, she wrote and directed several shorts, both documentary and fiction, selected and awarded at national and international film competitions. In 2018, she has
been selected along with 11 other international filmmakers to attend a documentary workshop in Los Angeles,
held by the American Film Showcase, at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Her graduation film "Creativ" was part of the East Silver Market selection at the 23rd Ji.hlava IDFF, 2019 and it was awarded in 2020 by The Romanian Filmmakers Union – UCIN as Best Documentary Film. Her last fillm, "Take Them Into the Light" had its World Premiere at 24rd Ji.hlava IDFF, 2020.
