Mimbre Producciones was co-founded by Rocío Romero and Daniela Camino in 2013, with the aim of making films with sensitive and authorial perspectives regarding topics like youth, gender and social issues. Fernanda Mancilla joined Mimbre in 2016, providing line production services for international and national production companies.
Mimbre’s innovative and creative multidisciplinary team designs creative and strategic methods of production, finance as well as distribution for both fiction and documentary projects in all production stages. Based in Arica and Santiago, Mimbre continues to work with all kinds of communities and minorities to bring their experiences to the forefront of cinema.
Their most notable films include NAOMI CAMPBELL (C.Donoso, N. Videla, premiered in CPH:DOX 2014, Best Direction at Cinema Tropical 2015), PLANTS (R. Doveris, Berlinale 2016 – Best Film, Generation) and NONA, IF THEY SOAK ME, I’LL BURN THEM (C. DONOSO, IFFR Tiger Competition 2019).
