20minmax

During the festival week in autumn, around 70 short films will be screened in competition and will bring the current short film scene to Ingolstadt. 20minmax is organized by the "Association for the Promotion of Film Culture - Von der Rolle eV" and the Stadttheater Ingolstadt in cooperation with the cultural department of the city of Ingolstadt and sees itself as a platform for film enthusiasts and filmmakers. The different venues underline the concept of diversity, which is also reflected in the program.

In the daily screenings, the direct sequence of feature and documentary films, animation and children's films, video art and music clips offers the opportunity to compare different styles, themes and moods and to highlight contrasts. Through the selection of films and the dramaturgical arrangement of the shorts, the festival combines artistic standards with high entertainment value.

With the wide range of film nations and thus also film cultures, the festival creates windows to different worlds: in foreign languages, with unusual tension and strange humor, short films tell their stories, show new perspectives and formal languages, experiment with aesthetics and rhythm.

The short film form achieves what the long film cannot always achieve: everything is possible! Jokes and short stories, portraits and visual games, statements and moods are conveyed in a condensed form. In short films, filmmakers present themes in a pointed manner and concentrate on the essentials.
