East Doc Forum

About

Do you need co-producers for your upcoming documentary? Are you looking for opportunities to present your project to the international sales agents, TV producers and fund representatives? East European Forum is one of the best! Register your project to get to a preparatory workshop and a final pitching in front of the most important decision makers and film industry representatives from all over the world. Get a feedback at roundtables, and a chance to win Awards resulting in financial support or attractive co-productions.

East European Forum is the region's largest meeting of Central and East European documentary filmmakers with Europe's and North America's leading commissioning editors, independent producers, distributors, buyers, film fund representatives and festival programmers. Directors and producers present their projects for co-production, pre-sale, future distribution and other forms of financial support and cooperation.

The East European Forum is preceded by a 5-day preparatory workshop whose ultimate goal is to prepare participants for the public pitching session by working on their communication and presentation skills, finalizing the visual materials of their projects, and creating a plan for its sale and distribution. An integral part of the program are the inspirational lectures, case studies, masterclasses and panels devoted to different aspects of documentary filmmaking in an international setting. The workshop is followed by a 2-day Pitching Forum where all participants pitch their projects to international guests, meet them to negotiate about possible cooperation and hear their comments within the Feedback Round Tables and One-on-one Meetings.

Projects that attended the East European Forum become a part of the year-long follow-up support programme. This programme offers filmmakers the opportunity to continue promoting their upcoming films and search for partners through various delegations to key European documentary film festivals and markets.

Since its foundation in 2001, the East European Forum has become a prestigious meeting place that has hosted more than 700 filmmakers and producers from Eastern Europe, and over 300 commissioning editors, buyers and festival programmers. Almost 150 documentary films have been completed with the direct support of the East European Forum, with a number of them awarded at prestigious international festivals.

Since 2012, the East European Forum in Prague is one of the pillars of the EAST DOC PLATFORM, which is organized by the Institute of Documentary Film and is associated with the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.
