East Doc Platform

About

The East Doc Platform 2024 takes place at the French Institute in Prague, March 22-28, organized by the Institute of Documentary Film in association with the One World Film Festival.

The East Doc Platform (EDP) is the largest co-production, funding and distribution platform tailor-made for Central and East European documentaries, every year connecting East European filmmakers and decision makers - producers, broadcasters, distributors and festival programmers - from around the world.

The East Doc Forum is the flagship pitching opportunity for the funding and co-production of projects in the development/early production stage. This includes feature documentaries, as well as factual series.
WHEN: March 27

The East Doc Market offers curated meetings between filmmakers and decision-makers to pitch projects in the development / production / post-production stage.
WHEN: March 27-28

Projects with innovative technologies and new storytelling ways used for immersive, XR or any interactive storytelling are invited to find partners at East Doc Interactive. The 3-day preparatory workshop and networking is an integral part of the EDP.

Within the EDP programme, one event is dedicated only to Czech documentary projects. During the presentation Czech Docs... Coming Soon, upcoming feature documentaries will be introduced to an audience of invited representatives of prestigious film festivals, sales agents, distributors and the wide public.

The East Silver is a unique film market for completed films and rough cuts.
WHEN: March 26

Selected projects are also eligible for the East Doc Platform Award. The East Doc Platform Jury awards the best project in development and production with the East Doc Platform Award and a financial prize for further development of the documentary film.

The East Doc Platform is implemented with the financial support of Creative Europe MEDIA, Czech Film Fund, Ministry of Culture,  APA - Audiovisual Producers' Association, HBO Max, the capital city of Prague, and the Austrian Cultural Forum.
