East Silver Market
East Silver is the first documentary market which supports producers and distributors from Central and East Europe. Each year, about 150 films are included in the market. The 19th edition of the East Silver Market will take place at the 26th Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival on October 25 – 30, 2022.
Focus: Completed films
Open to: Creative documentaries from the region of Central and Eastern Europe, tackling contemporary topics, challenging genre and media boundaries and audience participation. We welcome films that set out to conduct intense and engaged experiences and to change the way we think about topical issues, audiences, ways of storytelling and the world itself. This call is open for completed documentaries produced/co-produced in the region of Central and Eastern Europe (please see the list of eligible countries). Only films that have not been previously submitted for East Silver market are eligible.
Application deadlines:
Submission deadline for films produced in 2021 and 2022: May 31, 2022
Submission deadline for projects in rough cut stage: July 31, 2022

We accept online screeners (Vimeo, YouTube etc.), which must be available till Sep 30, 2022. East Silver Caravan promotes East European documentary films at important international film festivals and markets. Our nomad showcase of Eastern European documentary selection reaches over 130 prestigious international film festivals and markets.
Silver Eye Award 2022
Picking the nominees from 2022 East Silver Market submissions, East Silver international jury (comprising of international buyers, sales agents and festival selectors) awards the best documentary films with the Silver Eye Award in 2 main categories (short and feature length documentary).
VoD Spotlight
A new alternative online distribution for creative documentaries from the East Silver collection, connecting documentary filmmakers and VOD platforms.
