The Mud Princess

ტალახის პრინცესა

Directing: Dea Tcholokava

Synopsis

Summer. Akhtala, Georgia. A Soviet-built, mud-colored building stands tall in the desert of mud. The building is a bathhouse, where people from all over the country come to hopes of recovery.
Within these surroundings, a 5-year-old chubby girl Tako in a pink dress spends her days waiting for her grandmother who works all the time as a linene washer in the mud healing center. In her attempts to escape boredom, Tako imagines herself to be a princess from a fairytale world. Vibrant childhood flows tediously in a mud-colored world.
This is a documentary fairytale about Tako, who creates a magical universe in place of Akhala’s mud baths. Her tiny hands and lucid imagination transform gooey mud into an anti-hero.
