Synopsis
It is Alina’s first time at a children’s summer camp. Instead of her mum, she now shares a room with a bunch of 13 year old girls she’s never met before. She cries at lunch, however the swimming competition and the evening disco soon put her homesickness to bed. Together with her new friends she sings the camp song, teases the boys, braids her hair, discuses who she fancies and talks about the camp leaders – in short she does everything to get in with the camp regulars. Only Polina doesn’t share in the fun. Instead she keeps to herself, hides in her own world and even refuses to cut out paper stars. Two girls share the same room, sleep on beds side by side, but only noticed each other while making paper stars for the contest.
