Synopsis
Ruth is 79 years old. She was 12 when she was raped by Russian soldiers. As Ruth is talking about her past, several photographs and archive material from World War II will add to her depictions, as will her own poems and paintings and the written memories of a couple of women who were also raped in 1945. Within following Ruth’s and her niece Corinna’s daily life I will find out the difficulties they face today as well as the ways in which they try to overcome them. During the planned six month of filming, Ruth is going to prepare her 80ths birthday. She wants to celebrate it in Elblag, Poland, the place where she grew up and the place where she was raped. I will follow her travelling to her formerly hometown.
