Synopsis
Between 1695 and 1724, the Count Frantisek Antonin Spork built Kuks like the unique baroque spa and hospital area. 300 years, there has been only a maintenance and the area was slowly falling apart. For the „European money“, the generous renovation of the entire valley starts now. For us it is the opportunity to confront the baroque vision of Count Spork with the current view of restoration and using of historic buildings. And also to confront residents of the tranquil village Kuks with the „big“ world of European projects and tourism. On the small space of Kuks valley, we can demonstrate not only issues of conservation, but in a wider context also issues of our relationship and interpretation of history and living space.
