Space Dogs

The first living being sent into space, was a street dog named Laika. She was also the first casualty. A legend says that today her ghost is wandering through the Russian capital. SPACE DOGS takes this myth as its starting point and proceeds by following Laika’s traces. They lead into the story of Soviet space travels and street dogs that live in today’s Moscow, where the film is forced by his own heroes to move like a wild animal on 4 legs – past and present, documentary and fiction. Ultimatly all thoses dogs, from the old voyagers to the actual drifters are scouts for humans. Following their path, SPACE DOGS discovers a surprising, magical and yet accurate image of our world.
