Synopsis
The movie focuses on the story of a group of musicians led by Tymon Tymański, who were trying to find their place in the absurd reality of post-transformation Poland, full of kitsch and contradictions. In 1997, as the band Kury, they recorded the now legendary album ‘P.O.L.O.V.I.R.U.S.’, a bitter-sweet take on Poland in the 90s: growing capitalism, show business, and music scene, dominated by disco polo. It’s a story about a musical experiment – balancing between a parody and serious social commentary – that became a postcard of the 90s, which is still relevant today. Twenty-five years later, the album’s popularity is undiminished, and its creators reunite to play it live. Once again, they face the question: what are success and creative freedom?
