Jani Ilomäki is a film director who is living in Helsinki, Finland. He has graduated from Tampere University of Applied Sciences in Media in 2013. Especially his film Thoughts about dying (2013) has been selected in competition in many festivals f.e. Tampere Film Festival and Odense International Film Festival of Odense. In Tampere Film Festival the film won Youth Jury prize in 2013. New film Thoughts about love (2016) has also selected to various festivals like Moscow International Film Festival, Nordisk Panorama, Sweden and 58th Nordic Days Lübeck, Germany.
Ilomäki has a strong interest to tell stories especially from the youth perspective. Ilomäki is also working as a 1st and 2nd assistant director in Finnish film industry.
