Ivette Löcker was born in Bregenz and raised in St. Michael/Lungau (Austria). She earned an MA in Slavic Studies, East European History and Sociology from the University of Vienna in 1997. She began her film career as a researcher, production manager and assistant director on documentaries such as, „Pripyat“ by Nikolaus Geyrhalter, and „Wolff von Amerongen – Did he Commit Bankruptcy Offences“ by Gerhard B. Friedl. She has been making her own documentaries since 2006. Ms. Löcker lives and works in Berlin.
