Durna Safarova is from Baku and has been engaged in non-fiction storytelling since 2005. She has a background in journalism, film production, distribution, and programming. She has produced and overseen numerous short documentaries and photography projects, most recently as media manager at ChaiKhana Media. Previously, she managed the international festival circulation of feature-length documentaries at Filmotor, a Prague-based sales agency. She has worked on projects that have premiered at international festivals such as Annecy, Ji.hlava, Visions du Réel, and Sarajevo. Durna holds a Master’s degree in Film Studies from University College London and a Master’s in Film and Television from Istanbul Bilgi University. She is a programmer for the SevilFest in Azerbaijan.
