Cameo
Cameo is 29 and has been fighting on the front line in Ukraine for three years. At first, full of hope and energy, he believes the war will end quickly and that he will return to normal life. The camera follows him closely, capturing the everyday reality of war: combat, exhaustion, and the monotony of waiting. In moments of respite, he cooks for his fellow soldiers, jokes around, draws protective runes, and listens to voice messages from his girlfriend, trying to hold on to a sense of normality. During one of his leaves, he learns that he is going to become a father. This changes everything. Back at the front, the war is no longer just a duty — it becomes a real threat to the life about to begin. With each passing day, the tension between loyalty to his comrades and responsibility for his family’s future grows stronger. Cameo faces a decision: to stay and fight or to desert. In the end, he leaves his comrades behind, choosing his child. The film is an intimate portrait of a man caught in war and a choice that will shape his life forever.
