Too Close is a 70-minute feature documentary, in which Andrea, a single mother, is struggling to recover from the most traumatic experience of her life: her daughter has been the victim of sexual abuse. The child’s stepfather had been locked up for his crime, however, he was released, and he moved back to the small Transylvanian village that Andrea and her children live in. Despite him being unable to approach them, Andrea wants to escape from the village. Unfortunately, no one wants to buy the decaying house. As the film captures dramatic situations from the woman’s life, we also get to know the enclosed rural community that keeps on sticking up for the man, because he is member of a priest’s family, while Andrea’s side is resented by many, because she is an actress. The film draws attention upon a taboo topic.
