Miriam believes that the right music is as important a part of cinematic narrative as editing. Music should tell a story. When do you look for composers when you plan/film a documentary? What if you as a filmmaker don't understand music? How can you as a music composer position yourself to attract the kind of work that excites you?

These and many more topics will be part of the Masterclass where Miriam Cutler will present simple tools to help you communicate about music and inspire confidence and comfort in the collaboration, where the goal is to create the best possible atmosphere for creative ideas to flow between composers and filmmakers.

Masterclass will also present clips from Miriam’s own work to demonstrate various approaches and ways music can be used to tell a story. Masterclass is moderated by George Cremaschi, great musician who is teaching film sound production at FAMU since 2011 and is a professor of sound art and sound production at Prague College.
