Creative Dialogue: Wolves at the Borders (Dec 8)

30. 11. 2021

Author: Veronika Zýková

Join us for another Creative Dialogue on December 8 at 6 pm (CET) live on Facebook. It will be focused on Wolves at the Borders, a documentary about the return of wolves to Czech forests and our conflicted relationship with nature. Director Martin Páv and producer Zuzana Kučerová (Frame Films) will talk with documentary expert and tutor Iikka Vehkalahti about the process of creating the film and its festival journey.

Creative Dialogue is part of the IDF Industry Sessions series. It presents talks with directors and producers of exceptional documentary projects and tutors who met during the Ex Oriente Film workshop and/or East Doc Platform, both organized by the Institute of Documentary Film. Tutors, film professionals who had the greatest influence on the project, are selected by the director-producer team.

Wolves at the Borders
In the Broumov region in the Czech Republic, the last wolf was eliminated two centuries ago. Its reintroduction, like elsewhere in Europe, triggers passionate debate between livestock farmers and environmentalists. Martin Páv planted his camera in the middle of this battlefield, on which is being played out the pacified coexistence of humans with this totem animal, a symbol of wild nature. (VdR)
