Submit your short documentary projects to the Short Pitch Program, which will take place during the 23rd edition of Millennium Docs Against Gravity in May 2026. We are accepting documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe and the deadline for submissions is February 1, 2026.
Who can apply?
The call is open to short documentary projects from Central and Eastern Europe that are either in development or at the rough-cut stage. Seven projects will be selected to participate. Please be sure to review the guidelines before submitting your project, and see the list of eligible countries. The selection committee will evaluate applications based on both artistic quality and the originality, impact, and strength of the proposed content.

About the Short Pitch Program
The Short Pitch Program aims to support and nurture the next generation of documentary filmmakers from the region. Selected participants will start with online pitch training, preparing them to effectively shape and present their projects.
During the festival in Warsaw, they will pitch to an industry panel, which will include sales agents, distributors, festival programmers, and representatives from television networks. After the pitch session, filmmakers will also have the chance to participate in one-on-one meetings, offering valuable opportunities for networking, feedback, and potential collaboration.
Silver Eye Award
An International Jury will present the Silver Eye Award to the best documentary from the Short Pitch Program. This prestigious award recognizes filmmakers with innovative approaches, those who create social impact, or directors tackling challenging, thought-provoking topics with unique perspectives. The winner will receive one year of festival distribution services provided by East Doc Caravan, helping the film reach international audiences.
