From March 6 to 12, 2017, the largest documentary industry event of its kind, East Doc Platform, will take place in Prague. For the sixth time, it is organized by Institute of Documentary Film in association with the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. Traditionally, almost 400 international guests will attend EDP, whether they are coming as tutors - renowned experts in the field of documentary filmmaking and distribution ready to share their experience; decision makers and selectors looking for the most promising films and projects in Central and Eastern Europe, or directors and producers seeking co-production, financial and distributional support or new contacts and inspiration. Apart from the traditional staple activities for selected projects ( East European Forum, Doc Tank, Project Market and East Silver), East Doc Platform will offer a rich Open Industry Programme including master classes, lectures, case studies, pitchings, networking events and screenings that no documentary enthusiast should miss. In 2017 you can among others look forward to a two-day conference KineDok First Screens - a series of lectures and workshops designed primarily for young filmmakers, high school students and graduates, bringing new findings and practical examples from the field of documentary distribution and working with the audience. Within the presentation Czech Docs...Coming Soon, several upcoming Czech docs will be introduced, including the video presentations unveiling the form, means of expression and cinematography of the projects. Doc Tank will traditionally bring internationally renowned experts in marketing, transmedia, crowdsourcing and modern campaigns and storytelling tools to Prague.
