The 11th Iran International Film Festival "Cinema Verite" will screen five documentaries from East Silver Caravan

Documentary & Experimental Film Center (DEFC) organizes "Cinema Vérité" Iran International Documentary Film Festival 10th -17th Dec 2017 in Tehran, Iran. The international competition consists of three sections: Up to 30 minutes (Short Competition Section), Longer than 30 minutes (Mid-Length Competition Section) and Longer than 60 Minutes (Full-Length Competition Section). The festival also enjoys numerous non-competition sections such as Anthropology Docs, Portrait, Another Look, Our Universe or Special screenings etc. that are designed on a year by year basis.

The Iran IDFF Cinema Vérité focuses on anthropology, as one of the most important genres of documentary cinema. Among seven today's world documentaries are two titles from the selection East Silver Caravan. The Last Ice Hunters (Jure Breceljnik, Rožle Bregar / Slovenia) that brings you to East Greenland and follows the life of hunters and unstoppable cultural influences that are threatening the existence of these unique people. The second title is A Hole In the Head (d. Robert Kirchhoff / Czech Republic, Slovakia) speaking about the tragedy of the Roma and Sinti during the Second World War.

The category Special screenings will introduce Pulse directed by Robin Petré. This film looks at human-animal relations and the imperialist way we deal with nature. It plays on the line between reality and dreamy, sensorial experience while interweaving present day footage with archive photographs from the beginning of deer Hungarian farming in the 1980s. Another representative of the selection East Silver Caravan is the award-winning documentary Normal Autistic Film by Czech director Miroslav Janek.

Last but not least, Serbian documentary Radiovision (Miloš Tomić, Gregor Zupanc, Igor Simić, Jelena Milunovic) will be presented to the audience in the section Another Look.
