Total of 8 Czech feature documentaries will screen at 53rd Karlovy Vary IFF. Selection includes three films, which will compete in the Documentary Competition: Breaking News (dir./ prod. Tomáš Bojar - Cinema Arsenal, CZ, 2018) and Inside Mosul (dir. J. Andert, produced by J. Macola - Mimesis Film, CZ, 2018) and Latvian-Czech-Swiss co-production documentary Putin's Witnesses (dir. V. Mansky, produced by N.Maskya - Vertov Studio, LV/CH/CZ, 2018). In addition there are two new Czech documentaries King Skate (dir. Š. Šafránek, produced by K. Černá - Negativ Film Productions, CZ, 2018) and Circus Rwanda (dir. M.Varga, produced by M. Novák - Xova Films, CZ/SK, 2018) screened as Special Events. In the Section Czech Films 2017–2018 you will find documentaries Nothing Like Before (dir. K. Tasovská, L. Kokeš, produced by P. Janoušková Kubečková, T. Hrubý - nutprodukce, CZ, 2017), Universum Brdečka (dir. M. Janek, produced by O. Zima - Evolution Films, 2018, CZ, and When the War Comes (dir. J. Gebert, produced by R. Síbrt - PINK, CZ/HR, 2018).
