Institute of Documentary Film and Documentary Monday invite you to the screening of Alisa Kovalenko's Home Games at Světozor Cinema on September 9. The screening starts at 8:45 pm and is English friendly.

A crucial season in the life of Alina, a 20-year-old girl from Kiev whose passion for football has saved her from destitution. Alina has become a professional player, but then life throws up a new challenge: her mother dies, leaving behind two young siblings, Renat and Regina, and an almost-blind grandma. Now, Alina faces a choice: football or family.



Home Games was screened at number of festivals, including IDFA, FIPADOC, Sheffield Doc/Fest and One World IHRDFF in Prague, and received several awards. The director Alisa Kovalenko is among the most inspiring Ukrainian documentary filmmakers.

The film is part of East Silver Caravan which helps documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe with festival distribution.
