COVID-19: Update on current situation in the Czech Republic (March 7, 2020)

On March 6 Czech government issued a regulation for all Czech citizens coming from Italy to immediately contact their doctors, who should order quarantine (14 days). This is mandatory for Czech citizens only and any violation of this regulation is subject to a fine. All inbound flights from Italy, China and South Korea are banned by the Czech government.

All schools and public institutions are open and functional. There is no other regulation in force regarding various public events with attendance under 5 000 visitors. Safety measures are applied and specialized hotline is run by the authorities that provides necessary consultations and could dispatch medical unit for field testing if deemed necessary. Posted on March 3, 2020:
In regards to the current situation around the COVID-19 outbreak, the Institute of Documentary Film would like to disclose that we take it seriously, but considering the situation in the Czech Republic (with only 5 registered cases of COVID-19 by March 3), we will carry on and the upcoming East Doc Platform 2020 (March 7 – 13) will take place as planned.

We will follow the situation closely and will follow recommendations by the Czech government and the Ministry of Health, as well as recommendations of the Chief Hygienist of Prague. Current and updated information about the situation in the Czech Republic are published on the website of the Ministry of Health. The Czech government banned all direct flights from China, South Korea and Northern Italy. The Czech Republic registered 5 cases of coronavirus that are handled in accordance with the applicable guidelines (by March 3, 2020).

We have information about the travel arrangements of our guests and we can confirm that there are no participants coming from the areas heavily affected by COVID-19, such as Asia or Northern Italy.

We would like to respond to the situation and the questions about the safety of the event and take the following precautions. Thus, we will distribute hand sanitizers and disinfectants on the locations.

We are looking forward to meet you in Prague.
