On May 14, producer Vladimir Mikhailovski and sound designer Max Gavrilenko died in a terrible car crash on their way back from the shooting of a documentary about volunteers helping to fight coronavirus in Gomel, Belarus. Director Lyubov Zemtsova was fighting for her life in the hospital. Unfortunately, she died on May 22, 2020.
We remember Lyubov from the Ex Oriente Film 2017 workshop sessions and East Doc Platform 2018, where she developed and pitched her upcoming film The Place of Love, which was later part of East Silver Caravan. Vladimir Mikhailovski was the producer of this film. The Institute of Documentary Film would like to remember these talented Belarusian filmmakers with the special screening of The Place of Love during Documentary Monday at Světozor Cinema in Prague on June 8, at 8:45 pm.
