VoD (video-on-demand) has been the fastest growing area of the audiovisual economy in the last years. According to 2020 EUROVOD report "Diverse, Dynamic, Sustainable: Evolution of a European Independent VoD Sector": "The lockdown exposed, accentuated and accelerated pre-existing trends in VOD” for global platforms, but also for independent European VOD platforms.
In this IDF Industry Session Christmas VoD Selection on Wednesday, December 16 at 6 pm (CET) we will talk not only about the great documentary films that VoD platforms prepared for Christmas holidays, but also about the environment they operate in. What is their business model? How do they select content for their catalog? What territories do they cover? What can they bring to filmmakers in terms of revenue sharing, audience, promotion and outreach?
