Budapest International Documentary Festival (BIDF) will show from January 28 to February 3, 2019 in its competition East Silver Caravan titles and Silver Eye nominees. The theme of its 5th edition is "Naked truth on the film screen".

For the 10th time the Institute of Documentary Film gave Silver Eye Award to the best documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe at East Silver Market. The winner of the feature length category is When the War Comes (dir. Jan Gebert).

The winner of the Silver Eye Award in short length category is Eight Images from the Life of Nastya Sokolova (dir. Alina Kotova, Vladlena Sandu). Special Mention goes to Lembri Uudu (dir. Eeva Mägi).
