Armenian Dreamers

Hay Erazoghnere

Armenian Dreamers is a film about the dreams of people. Four protagonists try to fulfill their dreams: A lady, who is an elevator conductor in a hospital, dreams of a journey into space. An old unemployed Stalinist dreams of a trip to Paris before he dies. A young farmer dreams of the perfect woman, he can choose himself without the limitations of his village community. While three of the protagonists dream to escape their present lives, there are two others, two young girls, a lesbian couple, that plays a very special role: they try to live their dream. They live on the roofs of Yerevan, marrying themselves with a doll as a pastor. They are free as if there were no borders for them and they define their own world. Both girls become leading representatives of the "Velvet Revolution" that took place in Armenia this year. Perhaps this freedom of their spirit is the strength of a new generation that also led to the revolution? What happens with the dreams of the others? Are they affected by the girls`dream, the Velvet Revolution?
