Synopsis
There are two types of cities. There are ones that prosper for a long time because they are capable of making changes that inspire our desires. And then there are places where desires take over and destroy everything. Most Europeans live in urban areas, cultivated by our ancestors for hundreds of years. How does this heritage shape us? What will we leave behind? We all want to live in inviting, friendly environments, not in museums. On the other hand, architecture should follow not only aesthetic but also ethical principles. Tastes and desires change, and the boundary between creativity and destruction is all too fragile. A film about Prague and other historical cities, about the past, present and the future, about dialogues between buildings and people, memory and creativity, ambition and humility.
