Synopsis
The film is a portrait of the 90 year old Jewish communist Theodor Bergmann. Born in Berling during the Republic of Weimar, Bergmann became a member of the antistalinist communist movement in Germany. In 1933 he had to flee to Palestine, where he worked for the creation of a Jewish state. ...Returning to Germany in 1946, he was disliked by many Germans because of his Jewish background as well as he was disliked by the Eastern German bureaucracy as a critical, oppositional communist, because he had dared to criticize Stalin in the years before...
