Synopsis
Vicky, founder of Kastel NGO, leads a remarkable team of teenage volunteers confronting Romania’s crisis of functional illiteracy and school dropout. Through their programme “Teacher for an Hour,” top students mentor children from disadvantaged communities, offering what a struggling system too often fails to provide: a second chance at education. With limited funding and institutions that often hinder rather than help, Vicky fights to reach children at risk of being left behind.
Along the way, we meet Filip, 14, and Daria, 9. Their stories put a human face on the crisis, showing how small acts of empathy can challenge a system that has failed too many children.
