Synopsis
“DAS DEUTSCHE VOLK” tells the story of the racist attack in Hanau from the perspective of the bereaved and survivors in the immediate aftermath of the incident. What are the direct and long-term consequences of such an attack on the people and their city? We follow the protagonists for nearly five years as they process their grief and fight for recognition and a sense of belonging in the country they call home. This could happen everywhere where hate against migrants is getting stronger.
