The Passion according to the Polish Community of Pruchnik

Directing: Andreas Horvath

Synopsis

In the small town of Pruchnik, near the remote Bieszczady Mountains in the south-eastern part of Poland, villagers gather every year on Good Friday to "punish" Judas for his betrayal of Jesus. The film explores the thin line between pagan and Christian rites and raises the timely question to what extent anti-semitism finds loopholes in the Roman Catholic tradition.
