Jiri Kylian

Jiri Kylian is one of the most significant personalities in choreography. Even after fleeing his homeland for The Netherlands in 1968, he did not lose contact with Czech culture - the “Sinfonietta” by Leos Janacek brought international fame and recognition to him and to the Netherlands Dans Theater, where he worked as a choreographer and later as an art director. Kylian became a Knight of the Netherland Royal Order, Oranjr – Nassau and was awarded the French title of The Knight of Art and Literature. The film will consist of performance and rehearsal segments of shows “Tar and Feathers”, “Vanishing Twin”, “Claude Pascal”, as well as interviews with Jiri Kylian and his collaborators and admirers. The shooting will take place on locations in The Netherlands and Czech Republic and other destinations.
