Synopsis
An emotional journey of the director Stanisław Berbeka, son of Maciej Berbeka, a great himalaist and ice warrior of the '80. Stanisław tries to get to know his father's story after his tragic death in 2013. By accounts of expedition participants, family members and archivalia, we gain personal insight into the life of the himalaist. By claiming the top of Broad Peak as the first team in history Maciej made his dream come true and completed some unfinished business he had with the mountain, that has started 25 years before but was not finished due to unusual circumstances. The film discusses the division between passion and family life, fatherhood and manhood, as well as life and death in the shadow of the greatest mountains of the Himalaya and Karakoram.
