The Floating Bridge

Brudina is a local term for the floating bridge used as a shortcut between the villages Pricaz and Folt by the people living near Mures river. Although Romania das have still lots of catching up to do regarding its infrastructure, a new highway was built 500 meters away from the ferry bridge. The fact that people are still using this way to get on the other side of the river speaks for itself about the mentality and the rhythm of people, almost ignoring modernization as if time has frozen. Brudina is a film essay about isolation and solitude, love and destiny, time and death. Inspired by Charon and the Styx, Brudina is presenting a micro-universe through a perpetual cycle introducing protagonists Evi and Stelică.
