Synopsis
In a former school that has been occupied over the last twenty years by native Georgian refugee families, live roughly sixty families that escaped the Georgian-Abkhazian civil war. Here, the Ugrexelidze family lives in a past that also stands for the present and future, and that continues to flow below the stillness of a place that seems to not belong to the time and geography of the atlases. Internat is a reflection on nostalgia, the forced abandonment of one's homeland, the fear of losing one's roots and the creation of a Promised Land.
